Malachite Pendant Necklace 925 Sterling Silver

This pendant is made of African Malachite Stone and hand-wrapped in 13 gauge sterling silver wire.

Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral known for its vivid green color and distinctive banded patterns. It forms through the oxidation of copper deposits, often alongside minerals like azurite, chrysocolla, and cuprite. This stone develops in the upper layers of copper ore bodies, where carbonated waters react with copper-rich minerals. Major deposits are found in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Russia (Ural Mountains), Australia, and the United States (Arizona). With its rich color, concentric rings, and excellent polish, Malachite has been prized for thousands of years and is widely used for cabochons, carvings, and ornamental objects.
